“The Laurel House is our favorite destination in the North Carolina mountains. The hosts are fantastic. Everything is provided and it feels like a home. It is hard to leave at the end of the week.“

The house was just the right size for our young family of 5 and the location was ideal - a quiet side street from the bustling Blowing Rock main street with a really large playground and field just across the street. It was the perfect "home base" for us to go hiking, shopping and tweetsie-railroad-riding. We've stayed in Blowing Rock before and have always loved it, but we will be repeat customers at the Guest House for all of the reasons listed above.

We loved everything about this house for our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 young kids). The location is perfect for walking to restaurants and the park in Downtown Blowing Rock and right across the street from an awesome playground. The ping pong and shuffleboard were big hits with the kids, the front porch was great for sitting, and the hosts thought of everything in the house (plenty of towels, great bedding, little chocolates to welcome us). The little touches of coffee, filtered water, superb soaps for the bathroom, mattresses that slept like we were laying on clouds, were among just a few of the small things that added to a wonderful stay. This home is beautiful, spacious, and well furnished. The location to downtown Blowing Rock allows you to walk anywhere you would like to go avoiding the always crowded parking in the downtown area. Blowing Rock is a place full of discovery with museums, art galleries, shops, and some really fine restaurants. No need to tell you where to go as your host leaves a book full of information and tips to make your stay full of adventure and discovery. “Reserving this property and check in were extremely easy. We asked for an early check in as we had plans for the evening and they were happy to accommodate. We had plenty of space in the kitchen for all we brought - we only live about 2 hours away so we brought things we knew we needed for cooking that were specialized. I loved how the house was decorated - kept the old with nice conveniences. When you stay in this home, you are told, whatever is there is for you to use. They supply you with SO much!!! All paper products were there in great supply along with soaps etc. We truly enjoyed our time - we were there for a week and a half. The house was in a quiet area but we could walk to downtown in less than 5 minutes. We have a parking space which is an extra nice feature in Blowing Rock. When we arrived, we found a nice bottle of prosecco and a little box of chocolates from Kilwins (always on my list to visit). The bed is super comfortable!! As I said, we felt right at home. If we had a question, we would email and get a response quickly. We spent a few evenings in the huge garage playing on the shuffle board table. I know if our kids had been there, we would have had tournaments on that and the ping pong table. A few evenings were spent lounging on the front porch enjoying the cool temperatures and on Friday enjoying the music from Music on the Lawn. Blowing Rock is a wonderful place to visit and this home was perfect for us. My concern is always, when I find a great place and write a great review, it won't be available when we return!!” Ralph S.

“I absolutely loved this property! The pictures look like a house that could be in Southern Living- and they do not lie! I would hire them to decorate my own house. This is a cozy house within easy walking distance of all the shops and restaurants. We had a few days here and truly enjoyed sleeping late, drinking coffee on the front porch, shopping, and eating. They have gone above and beyond to make sure you have all the necessities- from Splenda and coffee to the paper towels, kitchen supplies, etc. I just loved this sweet touch and all of the other sweet touches throughout this home.
